Civil Service Commissioner Brandon Presley holds a ribbon for new natural gas lines

FULTON, Mississippi (WTVA) – Northern District Civil Service Commissioner Brandon Presley has joined the Itawamba Crossroads ranch for a natural gas ribbon cut.

The grand opening took place on July 22, 2021 in northern Itawamba County and celebrated the gas lines to five duplex homes. Each building consists of two separate apartments.

The duplexes will accommodate 10 male residents. The gas itself will serve these residents and provide the main lodge at Itawamba Ranch with a commercial-sized kitchen where residents’ meals will be prepared and served.

The gas lines will also supply natural gas to 29 homes in the region.

Presley, a longtime resident of Nettleton, MS, was elected public service commissioner for the Northern District of Mississippi in 2007, re-elected in 2011, 2015 and most recently in 2019 without opposition. He said the gas lines kill two birds with one stone: they are economical and provide a needed resource.

“Itawamba Crossroads Ranch is a great example of community and faith-based leadership responding to the needs of our people,” Presley said. “This project will save the ranch money and bring natural gas to area residents. My sincere thanks go to the Town of Fulton officials for accelerating this request.”

Fulton Town leaders, Itawamba County officials and lawmakers all joined Presley to attend the inauguration and celebrate the infrastructure improvements.
