Darwin companies win contracts to maintain public housing

Companies from three territories will share a $42 million investment to repair and maintain public and social housing in the Greater Darwin area.

QP Building Contractors, Precision Group and Akron will service a portfolio of approximately 3,800 property assets in the Darwin, Casuarina, Palmerston and Rural areas over a two-year period.

The work will create more than 200 jobs on site, including contractors, Indigenous workers and apprentices, in a variety of trades.

For the purposes of this tender, the Greater Darwin Region is divided into four geographical areas, with the following contractors being selected to carry out the work:

Zone 1 Darwin – QP building contractors; Zone 2 Casuarina – Precision Group NT; Zone 3 Palmerston – Akron Group NT; andZone 4 Rural – Precision Group.

These are standing offer contract arrangements for the adaptive and planned maintenance of urban public housing, government employees, industry and social housing.

The work includes repairs and maintenance of occupied and vacant properties owned or leased by the Territory’s Department of Families, Housing and Communities in the Greater Darwin area.
