Ex-Wales Civil Service Ombudsman takes on new role at Savills

Former Welsh Civil Service Ombudsman Nick Bennett has been appointed director of global property consultancy firm Savills.

In his new role as Director and Head of Economics Wales, Mr Bennett will lead areas such as economics and grant funding advice in Wales.

Mr Bennett, born in Llangefni, worked as an ombudsman for seven years, before which he was chief executive of the umbrella body for housing associations in Wales, Community Housing Cymru.

Mr Bennett said: “I am delighted to join Savills, who have a great team in Wales, with significant support infrastructure and firepower across the business. The opportunity to lead a team focused on sustainable growth across all sectors in Wales and to collaborate with many authorities and organizations that I have worked with throughout my career is very exciting.

Nick is hugely respected across Wales and will bring significant regeneration and funding experience to our UK economics team, based within our team of 75 in Cardiff.
